Some UK businesses could be missing out on considerable cost savings that are waiting to be implemented through the Energy Savings Opportunities Scheme (ESOS), according to energy efficiency and renewables specialist Ameresco. The company has conducted audits for businesses in sectors including high street retailing, pharmaceuticals, industrial and utilities.

"Businesses should seriously consider following through on recommendations made by energy experts," said Ameresco UK's MD Britta MacIntosh. "Many of the recommendations provide great opportunities to save both energy and money, often without a substantial time or cost commitment."

Ameresco estimates that measures identified are expected to reduce electricity and gas consumption by up to 35 per cent. You can read more about this topic here.
